I am going to be traveling so much this last half of the year and I am so stinking excited. I will never take traveling the globe for granted, it’s one of my favorite things to do!
However, something I used to dread when planning a vacation was airport security. If you have ever flown, you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t flown, I’ll try to make your first time as painless as possible.
Here are some tips and tricks to survive:
1.) First things first, I always take a carry on and a personal item. My carry on is typically a duffle bag and my personal item is a large book bag. I recommend a book bag and duffle bag with as many pockets as possible. It has made my life traveling a billion times easier. Keep reading to find out why…*insert winky face*
2.) Electronic Devices- They need all of these out when you go through. I shouldn't say all, but they want anything bigger than a phone out and in a bin. What I do to make this process easier is stick all of my devices in an easy to reach place in my backpack.
My iPad and portable charging block go in my from pocket, and my laptop goes in the back pocket. When I head through security I can just slide these out quickly and easily and put them in the bins and send them through. That’s why those pockets come in handy!
3.) Another reason pockets are the best: Liquids! I put all of my little liquids such as foundation, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, and all the others in two to three different see through plastic bags. I stick those bags in the same pocket, so when it is my turn I can have easy access to them and can put them in the bins quickly. No rooting around in your duffle bag for everything!
4.) If you are traveling in the spring/ summer and are wearing sandals or flip flops, take a pair of socks to put on before you go through security. If not, you have to walk barefoot through the security check point and imagine all the germs. GROSS.
Airport security truly isn't bad as long as you’re prepared. What are your tips and tricks for getting trough security as painlessly as possible? Leave me a comment!
