Let’s just start this blog post honest.
Writing is hard. Okay so maybe getting the story down on paper, or laptop, or typewriter, or whatever you use is not hard. Editing though? Holy cow.
Thoughts that went through my head as I started editing the first three chapters of my book:
1.) “Did I actually think that sounded good when I was typing?”
2.) *I just have my head in my hands, not saying anything.*
3.) “Peppa the freaking Pig could write better than I can.”
Those were actual thoughts I went through, and that is only after the first three pages! The manuscript is currently sitting in a folder thinking about what it’s done. Maybe when I go back to it, it will have shaped up a little bit. Doubtful, I know.
To make matters worse, I don’t think I even like this book. I don’t feel that draw to keep working on it. I have spent a half year writing this book and I feel like it was all for nothing. Which stinks.
The good news is that I have a billion other ideas for books. Statistically speaking, one of them has to stick right?
I’ll stop ranting now, sometimes a gal just needs to vent.
Talk to y’all soon!
